You'll generally have to open call for an installation. Use our Open a work ticket form here or from the menu at the left to get this started.

- Click here to connect to AH-PTRSVR1 .
This link will only work if you are on campus AND not using wireless. Printing wirelessly is NOT supported.
(Or Click on the Start Button and select Run.
In the Run field, type \\AH-PTRSVR1 .
Click on OK.) - Select your department printer(s) from the list (check that the full name of the printer is shown, since some printers are different depending on whether you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP.) Printers have limited access. If you cannot connect to your department printer, contact the ITC at x4773.
- Double-click the correct printer name install it.
I can't find my Favorites or Links bar after upgrading to Internet Explorer 7. Where's the File Edit View Tools Favorites Help menu?
To use the Menu Bar "on the fly" (and let it rehide after each use):
- Press the ALT key in IE 7 to show the Menu Bar, and then use the menu. The bar will rehide after use.
To show (or hide) the Menu Bar, (or Links, or your Goole Toolbar):
- Press the Alt Key to show the Menu Bar
- Click View -> Toolbars -> Menu Bar (or the toolbar of your choice.)
By Default, IE 7 hides the Menu Bar and your Links bar, to allow more viewing landscape.
How can I set up an LDAP address book for HSU?
HSU provides on-campus access to an LDAP server (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol, in case you were wondering) that can help you look up email addresses at HSU. Here's how to set it up in Outlook 2003. (Consult your Help documentation for LDAP if you use another email program, or for more information to use LDAP.)
- Open Outlook 2003
- Tools -> Email Accounts
- Select Add a new Directory or Address book and then click Next
- Select Internet Directory Service (LDAP) and then click Next
- In the Server name field, enter
lb1.humboldt.edu
- and then click Next
- Click Finish
- Exit Outlook and then restart to let your change take effect.
I need my Ethernet address to add my personal computer to the HSU network. How do I find my MAC address? My NIC address? My Physical address? My Ethernet Address?
(These are all different phrases for the same thing. The address is a 12-digit number usually beginning with 00 and will include letters. It can be separated by colons (:) or dashes (-) or spaces and will look like 00:11:22:33:44:55 or 00-11-22-33-44-55 or 00 11 22 33 44 55:)Microsoft Windows 2000/XP
- Click on the Start Button and select Run.
- In the Run field, type
cmd- Click on OK.
- At the command prompt, type in
ipconfig/all- Press Enter.
- Make a note of your adapter's physical address, listed as Physical Address.
