Personally-Owned, Associated Student or HSU Foundation Organization Equipment
It is the college's policy to support and uphold all applicable Federal and State laws. A memo from HSU's Human Resources Department (dated June 30, 2003) states that "Government Code Section 8314 prohibits use of public resources for a campaign activity, or personal or other purposes not authorized by law... Government Code Section 19990 prohibits using state time, facilities, equipment, or supplies for private gain or advantage." Government Code Section 8314(b)(3) "public resources" includes "computers" and "state compensated time".
It is in direct violation of these codes to work on personally-owned, Associated Student or HSU Foundation organizations since they not state-owned entities. They are not entitled to services, computers or parts from the ITC Office.
Computer Hardware
The ITC staff will not service or provide parts for personally-owned equipment, Associated Student or HSU Foundation computers whether they are used for state business or not.
Computer Software
The ITC Office does not supply any software to the above organizations. Requests for software should be directed to the sponsoring organization (Associated Students or Foundation) or purchased from the HSU Bookstore
