Repairs and Technical Troubleshooting
ITC staff are available for consultation, installation, maintenance and repair of hardware and software. Since many problems can be solved over the phone, we will try calling you back first. Please leave your computer ON and LOGGED OUTif you are reporting a problem just before you leave for the day/weekend/summer. Use the QuikForm to the left to open a call.
Turnaround time is determined by the nature of the problem. The lead times for tickets, and the level of priority, are presented in the turnaround estimates below:
Turnaround Time for ITC Projects
Job tickets are opened each time a new project is taken on by the ITC. These are processed by priority and then by first in, first out. If you have an urgent need, please let us know. We are here to serve you. The following are the guidelines we use for prioritizing job tickets:

| Repairs and Troubleshooting | Broken equipment and troubleshooting problems are typically handled within the same or next day (see below). Problems should be reported to the ITC office x4773

| Work Orders | New software and computer installations, hardware additions, upgrades, changes, and account requests.

| Projects | Projects involving the repair, troubleshooting, installation, reimaging, or upgrades of more than three computers.
|
| Consulting | Requests should be made directly to the ITC. . Requests for upgrade design, lab designs, etc. should be negotiated at the time of the request.

Consultation
ITC staff are available for questions and suggestions regarding prospective purchases of computers. There are available recommendations which itemize standardized lists of computers available for purchase by CAHSS, along with other recommended hardware and software. Link to price list.
Computer Labs
We service and maintain multiple computer labs in the college, equipped with a variety of different machines and software packages.
If you are considering developing a lab (new or existing) please read this document.

Hardware Available for Checkout
Does your new computer lack a floppy disk drive? We have a USB drive, and two USB SuperDrives which may be checked out to staff and faculty only. Arrangements must be made in advance to ensure availability. Checkout time is limited to 72 hours.
Software
Microsoft software (ex. Windows, Office), special low pricing has been arranged with the HSU Bookstore. Link to bookstore
Laptop and Computer Equipment Insurance
Contracts and Procurement is the contact point on our campus for laptop and computer equipment insurance loss and damage insurance. For more information regarding insurance, please contact the Purchasing Office at extension 3304.
