The California Center for Rural Policy at Humboldt State University is a research center committed to informing policy, building community, and promoting the health and well-being of rural people and environments.
Humboldt County has been selected as a study site for the National Children's Study, the largest long-term study on the environment's effects on children's health & development ever conducted in the United States.
100,000 children from more than 100 diverse communities nationwide will participate. In Humboldt County, 1000 children and their families will be included in the study.
Findings will suggest prevention strategies, inform policy, and improve the lives of future generations.
