Navajo Long Walk
Joseph Bruchac & Shonto Begay
First.
2005. Thomson Gale

Grades: 6+

Rating:  Good - dull yet  informative with beautiful illustrations

A story of tragedy - of one of the forced marches of thousands of Navajos from their homeland to Bosque Redondo, a reservation so desolate that "only the wind could live there." With amazing drawings this book tells the history of the forced removal of the Navajo people.  It is written as more of a history than a story and very informative but rather dry for younger readers.   Marlette Grant-Jackson – ITEPP-CRC
