Continuing the work of Prof. Eric Rofes, we have merged the 2007 North Coast Education Summit and the 13th annual Diversity Conference into the 2007 Education Encounter.

The Education Encounter will continue the tradition of the Ed. Summit of bringing to our local area some of the finest leaders in the fields of educational policy, alternative education, classroom teaching, community organizing, service learning, and social justice.

Added to the mix will be the traditions of the Diversity Conference of bringing voices of communities in struggle, reflection and action, student voices, collaborations for social change. Our combined themes continue to be: Social Justice, Inclusion, Education, Democracy, and Intercultural Dialogue
