Get Involved

There are a number of ways to get involved in the EMOS Festival.

Playwrights
Consider submitting a script for the competition. See Play Submissions.

Reader/Evaluators
If you are a theatre practitioner, student or educator and live in North Humboldt County consider joining the team that reads and evaluates the submitted scripts - an important first step in our selection process. E-mail Artistic Director: Larry K. Fried

Directors, Actors, Stage Managers, Designers, Production Assistants
It is not too early to express your interest in working on the Festival workshop production and rehearsed readings. If you are interested in HSU college credit, please see Related Courses. Otherwise e-mail us .

Festival Attendance
If you live outside the region, EMOS: Redwood Coast Festival of New Plays may just be the excuse you need to visit what National Geographic Traveler called "One of the world's top ten great places" - just 275 miles north of San Francisco . You can do so while participating in the only theatre festival of its kind. Festival events - productions, workshops, readings, discussions, and presentations - will open September 24 and run through October 2, 2004. We typically have some of our very best weather in September and early October. The central venue will be at Humboldt State University (HSU) in Arcata , CA . Additional venues include Dell' Arte Theatre in Blue Lake and Redwood Curtain Theatre in Eureka - both only a few miles away from Arcata. Check back on this site for updated and specific information under Schedule. See also Travel Information. Of course if you already live here or go to school here, you won't want to miss attending as many EMOS Festival events as you can. Join our e-mail list to get up-to-date information.
