One of the most important skills the employers seek in new environmental engineers is technical communication. In the ERE department we work on technical writing in many of our courses, from our Introduction to Environmental Engineering and Science (ENGR 115) to our Senior Capstone Design (ENGR 492). Before you turn any lab memo, send a professional email, or write a project report for the ERE department you should review the following documents. These guidelines are used throughout the department. Several of these documents were written by ERE lecturer Sheri Woo, and used as handouts in classes she teaches.
| Sheri Woo's guide to Editing | Everything you write should be edited, find out what to look for in your writing |
| Sheri Woo's guide to Concision | Technical Writing requires succinct language |
| Sheri Woo's guide to Writing a paragraph | Learn how to write a well constructed paragraph |
| Sheri Woo's guide to Citing Internet Sources | If you used an internet source for your paper you need to cite it properly |
