Mission and Vision
The mission of the Faculty Development Office (FDO) is to provide a centralized hub that supports faculty success and promotes teaching and learning excellence.
The vision of the Faculty Development Office (FDO) is to create spaces and opportunities where campus educators can engage as unapologetic learners to meet student needs as well as their own.
To promote excellence in teaching and learning at Humboldt State University and to support faculty needs, the FDO provides:
- individual consultation
- workshops, brown-bags, faculty learning communities, and other campus-wide events
- new faculty orientation
- resources (e.g., links, print materials, books for check out, small grant awards)

Upcoming Conferences on Pedagogical Effectiveness
The 21st Annual Lilly-West Conference on College and University Teaching will be held March 20-21, 2009 at the Kellogg West Ranch at Cal Polytechnic State University, Pomona.
2008 conference on Diversity, Learning, and Inclusive Excellence: Accelerating and Assessing Progress, October 16-18, 2008, in Long Beach, CA.
