Current Research Interests

  • Molecular systematics, biogeography, marine/freshwater transitions and classification of Cottus and the Baikalian cottoids
  • Conservation biology of the rough sculpin (Cottus asperrimus)
  • Hybridization between coastal cutthroat trout and steelhead, and between spring and fall races of Chinook salmon
  • Genetic variation among isolated populations of tidewater goby
  • Genetic variation and identification of Pacific lamprey species
