Graduate Application Instructions

Application Deadlines:

For fall semester admission: ALL application materials must be received by 01 Feb.

For spring semester admission: ALL application materials must be received by 30 Sept.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS

1. Complete the CSU Postbaccalaureate and Graduate Admission packet. (This admission packet may be filed electronically (on-line) or a completed hard copy may be mailed.)

Be sure to indicate the specific option you are applying to (i.e., Forestry or Watershed).

2. SEND your completed admission packet AND a check to cover the application filing fee (currently $55) to:

3. Arrange to have an official report of your GRE scores sent to:

Office of Admissions (address below)

You must also include the following codes:

Institution Code for Humboldt State University: 4345

Humboldt State GRE Department Code for a major in Natural Resources: 0999

4. Contact ALL previous colleges that you have attended and your current college and arrange for each of them to send an OFFICIAL transcript to:

5. Send (a) a listing of courses in progress and any other courses to be taken prior to entering any graduate program; and (b) one copy each (these need not be official) of ALL college transcripts to:

6. Send a detailed Statement of Purpose to:

Your statement should

(a) identify the option to which you are applying;

(b) express your reasons for pursuing a MS degree;

and (c) identify potential research areas that are of interest to you.

7. Have three letters of recommendations sent to:

At least one of these letters should be from a former university instructor who may judge your promise as a graduate student.Letters can be included with the application or sent separately. Fax copies may be sent, but they must be followed by

original copies sent via regular mail.

8. Send a resume of your work experience to:

9. Send a copy of your GRE scores to:
