Graduate Studies

Watershed students completing a field-based lab exercise

The Master of Science Degree in Natural Resources is available for those wishing to pursue a graduate degree in forestry, watershed management and other natural resources. Depending upon the program, the MS degree may be pursued as either a research degree or as a professional degree. The main difference is in whether a thesis or professional project/paper is the culminating exercise.

Prospective graduate students are strongly encouraged to contact and visit with faculty in the Forestry/Watershed Department as to whether graduate study topics the student may be interested in pursuing are available at HSU. Generally, a graduate student must be accepted by a faculty member before admission is granted.
