“How do I apply”
CSU Mentor application is available on line.
“What is the application process?”
Check with the program you are interested in applying to for their application process, and what pre-requisites might be required. Letters of recommendations will always be sent directly to the department you are applying to.
The fee to apply to Humboldt State University (California State University) is $55.00. Waiver of the fee is based upon financial need. When you apply online through CSU Mentor you will automatically be given the chance to fill out the fee waiver application.
Two Official Transcripts from any accredited university you have ever attended must be submitted to the Office for Research & Graduate Studies, 1 Harpst St., Arcata, CA 95521.
Letters of recommendations are required for most programs, and should be mailed directly to the department you are applying to. The letters of recommendation should come from faculty that are familiar with your scholarly background. There is not a form; normally the letters are on the school stationary the recommenders are representing.
It is your responsibility to check the status of your application. If an application is not complete (missing transcripts, application fee not paid, testing scores not posted, etc.) your application will not be forwarded onto the department for review.
When your application is complete, your application will be forwarded to the department you are applying to. The department will review and make their decision. If the department would like to admit you, you will receive a letter from the department advising you that they have approved your acceptance into the program. You are not officially accepted until you receive notification from the University that you have been admitted.
