About the Director

Prof. Eschker


Erick Eschker earned his Ph.D. from the University of California , Davis.  He joined the Economics Department at Humboldt State University in 1998 and is the Chair of the Department.   In spring 2004 Professor Eschker was awarded a Humboldt State University President McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars Award.  He spent his recent sabbatical at the Center for Population Economics at the University of Chicago and spent a year as a research economist at the American Medical Association.  He has published in journals including Applied Economics and Public Budgeting and Finance and has given papers at the Western Economic Association Annual Meetings and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.  Dr. Eschker has given numerous public lectures and media interviews regarding the local economy.  His regional economic research includes real estate and the local gasoline market.
