The B.A. in International Studies with a concentration in Postcolonial Africa gives students the necessary cultural, historical and linguistic background to understand the major events that have shaped present-day Africa. The program places special importance on the topics of African nationalism, emerging definitions of democracy, the role of women, and the influence of Islam.
