Server Account Information
HSU's central computers, or servers, are HP Alpha ES40 or 2100 computers with Tru64 UNIX operating systems. All students, faculty and staff are provided with an HSU User Name and Password used to access these servers while they are associated with HSU. Host names for the servers are as follows:

How Accounts are Assigned
Student Accounts - All students receive an HSU User Name for use on all three central servers when they are admitted to HSU.
Faculty and Lecturers - As soon as the Office of Academic Affairs enters your information on the Banner database, an HSU User Name will be generated for you for all central servers. You do not need to submit an Account Request form.
Staff - An HSU User Name is generated for staff on all central servers when they are hired by the university.
Clubs - Club accounts must be approved through the Clubs Office in the University Center, 826-6012. The Clubs Office will activate the accounts.
Organizations - Organizations requesting accounts must obtain approval through their affiliated sponsor who will be responsible for activating the accounts.
Alumni - HSU Alumni must become members of the Alumni Association in order to have an account on the central email server, or the central web server. For information, contact the Alumni office in room 129 of Siemens Hall, by telephone at (707) 826-3132, or by email at alumni@humboldt.edu.
Banner Accounts -All students receive a 9-digit HSU ID and PIN in order to login to Banner. A similar 9-digit HSU ID is provided for Faculty and Staff.
