Connection :: Wireless Access :: Windows XP

Setting up Windows XP to connect to the HSU Wireless Network.

Hover your mouse in the system tray (bottom right hand corner)
over the networking icons to determine which one is the wireless connection.

Right-click the wireless networking icon and select View Available Wireless Networks.



The Wireless Network Connection window will appear.


Select HSUWireless. Then select Connect

Your operating system may warn you that you are about to connect to an unsecured network. This means that traffic will NOT be protected by encryption. Click the Connect Anyway button.

Open a web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, etc.). The first time you access the campus network, you will be redirected to the network Registration page. Registration will help to ensure that your computer meets the basic requirements to use the campus network. This will increase security and realiability for everyone on campus.

If you receive a "Website Certified by an Unknown Authority" screen, select "Accept this certificate temporarily for this session" and click "OK". You can also permanently install HSU's SSL certificate.

Enter your HSU User Name and Password, select the Device Type (Wireless Laptop), and click Download
