3.4.1 City of Arcata (Map 3.2)

A system of on and off street bicycle trails has been planned for Arcata. Many Class II routes have already been developed. Within the City of Eureka, only the Bikecentennial Route (Class III) has been signed for touring cyclists passing through the city. A bike plan has been prepared but no route development has thus far occured. Short day use hiking trails exist in several city parks and Sequoia Zoo. A County proposed hiking trail partially within the Eureka City Limit in located on Elk River Spit (Ref. 3.2.7).
