Annual Recognition Awards Ceremony
In May 1999, the Student Disability Resource Center, SDRC, began a tradition of honoring students, faculty, staff, administrators, service-providers, and community members for their support of our mission to provide students with disabilities opportunities to discover, develop, and demonstrate knowledge and abilities. SDRC held its First Annual Recognition Awards Ceremony on May 6, 1999 and honored many individuals in a ceremony that was long overdue. The Recognition Awards have become a tradition at HSU, with SDRC soliciting alumni and community members to be keynote speakers.
The Awards are a great way to show our appreciation for the efforts from folks on campus who assist and accommodate students with disabilities. The list of individuals who have received awards is no way a complete list of the overwhelming number of faculty, staff, and administrators who enhance student success. It is indeed representative of the quality and character of our campus community. Each semester, our office provides a variety of support services to enhance access for students with learning, mobility, visual, communication, and other/functional disabilities. We greatly appreciate the collective and collaborative efforts of our campus and surrounding community in support of our mission to provide service, support and resources for our students to maximize their educational opportunities.
