Performance Opportunities

There are many performance opportunities in our active production season. These opportunities include theatre, physical theatre, dance, and acting in films.

Our theatre program covers a variety of plays by the masters, contemporary playwrights, and student originals.

Every third year part of a season is dedicated to staging original plays featuring new works by American playwrights. Each writer takes up residence at Humboldt during the production and works with the performers, director and production staff.

Dance performances include faculty and student choreography, with one mainstage production and two informal showings each year.

Physical theatre is featured through original work in different seasons.

Musicals, in collaboration with the music department, provide an array of opportunities for students every other year.

Film productions and screenings take place throughout the year with a special focus on the Humboldt Film Festival.

Auditions

Spring Dance Concert
Friday, January 25th.
Auditions held in Forbes West Gym 126 from 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Performance dates: April 17-19, 2008.
All students and skill levels are welcome to audition.

10 Minute Play Festival
Wednesday, January 23rd, and Thursday, January 24th.
Auditions held in Gist Hall Theatre from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Performance dates: April 24-26, and May 1-3, 2008.
No preparation necessary
Units available

Festival includes original plays by student writers and student directors. Actors will work with writers and directors in developing and work-shopping these never before seen plays.
