New Play Season

Humboldt State University sponsors a triennial New Play Season where scripts from all over the country are solicited. Two winners are chosen for full productions. As part of the development process, playwrights spend a residency on campus during rehearsals. Over the years, dozens of new scripts have received development and world premieres on the department's stages. Students benefit from observing and participating in the creation of new works and by the exposure to playwrights around the country.
