The University Budget Office performs many activities on behalf of the University associated with planning, analyzing, and administering the campus budget. As a part of that general purpose the Budget Office provides budget information, advice, and assistance to the campus community on budgetary matters.

The University Budget Office and the University community have worked very hard over the past months to develop and implement a new budget policy and process.

An ad hoc Budget Policy Committee crafted a new University Budget Policy, recommended by the Faculty Senate and approved by President Richmond in February 2004. The Addendum adopted, in October 2004, includes divisional policies that complement the University Budget Policy. The Budget Process has been redefined by an ad hoc Budget Process Committee to incorporate more input and a very open dialogue with the University community.  We owe these committee members a debt of gratitude for their work on behalf of the campus as a whole.

Focus now shifts to the newly convened University Budget Committee (UBC). You can track the progress of this committee through the Committees & Documents page.
