Humboldt State University Plant Operations is part of Facilities Management. We are the invisible campus community responsible for meeting the daily operational needs of the university's buildings, grounds and utilities.
Organized into six areas of service we work as a team to maintain and make repairs to campus academic buildings, clean your classrooms, make sure the water flows and the roof doesn't leak. We respond to your "too hot" or "too cold" calls, see that the lights go on and off as they should, ensure toilets flush and faucets don't drip. We keep the campus grounds beautiful, recycle everything we can get our hands on, provide safe buses and cars for official use, issue keys to your classrooms and offices, distribute your mail, move your furniture and maintain an inventory of HSU property. In addition, we work closely with Construction Services to provide support for campus projects, new construction and remodeling of facilities and grounds.
You may not notice us most of the time, but when things break, you'll find you really need us!
Plant Operations is located at the corner of 14th and B streets at the south end of campus.
