Bachelors Degree in Social Work

Masters Degree in Social Work

The Master of Social Work (MSW) program offers a full-time, two-year course of study and an advanced standing one-year program for candidates with an accredited undergraduate degree in social work. A part-time MSW program is also offered. The MSW program at Humboldt State is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

CalSWEC Program

Through the California Social Work Education Center (CalSWEC), undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in a career in Public Child Welfare or Indian Child Welfare may apply for a stipend in return for agreeing to work for a child welfare service agency after graduation. For undergraduates, the stipend is $15,000 in their last year and for graduates it is $18,500 for each year of the social work program.

John and Gail Gai Faculty Tribute Scholarship

The Department of Social Work and Humboldt State University award one $500 scholarship to one junior or senior in the BA Social Work program or to one graduate student in the MSW program.
