Intrasystem Visitor Information

What is an Intrasystem Visitor?

Students enrolled in a campus of the California State University may apply for a visitor's exchange to another CSU campus for one term.

Incoming Eligibility Requirements

You must have completed at least one term at your "home" campus as a matriculated student.

You must be in good academic standing at your home campus, have a grade point average of 2.0 in all work completed at your home campus, and be eligible to register in "continuing" status at your home campus.

Incoming Enrollment Condition

Approval will be for one term only as a visitor. If you wish to attend our campus longer, you will need to file a regular application for admission. You are subject to space availability and regular application deadlines. Please contact Andrea Martin in the Humboldt Admissions Office for more information at (707) 826-6243.

Financial aid is available to visitors only through their home campuses. Students eligible for veterans, rehabilitation, social security, and other federal, state, or county benefits must secure eligibility certification through the home campus.

Evidence of completion of course prerequisites may be required at time of enrollment(e.g., transcript copy of grade report).

Incoming Application Procedures

Obtain a CSU "Application for Intrasystem Visitor Enrollment" form from your home campus's Registrar's Office. Submit the completed form back to your home campus's Registrar's Office.

The home campus Registrar's Office will determine eligibility and forward the form to Admissions and Records at Humboldt State University.

If Humboldt accepts your application, you will be mailed a special letter of admission and registration information for visitors. If we do not grant your request, you will be notified.

Outgoing Enrollment Conditions

Approval will be for one term only and is subject to space availability and enrollment priority policies of the host campus.

To remain beyond the term in which you are a "visitor," a regular application to the host campus must be filed.

"Visitor" status will not be approved if the terms overlap on home and host campuses.

Concurrent enrollment at a third CSU campus is not possible while in "visitor" status.

Financial aid is available to visitors only through the home campus. Students eligible for veterans, rehabilitation, social security, and other federal, state, or county benefits must secure eligibility certification through the home campus.

All required fees must be paid at the time of the visitor registration.

A transcript of credit earned at the host campus will automatically be sent to the home campus.

Evidence of completion of course prerequisites may be required at time of enrollment (e.g., personal transcript copy or grade reports).

Outgoing Application Procedures

The student completes the visitor application and submits it to the Registrar at Humboldt (via the AIR Center) at least four weeks in advance of first day of classes at the host campus. Earlier submission (up to three months before class begins) may improve registration opportunities.

The HSU Registrar's Office will complete part II of the application and forward it to the host campus if approved, or return it to the student if disapproved.

The host campus will provide registration instructions if the application is accepted, or return the application withan explanation if it cannot be accepted.
