Clocktower, University Center
Starting at 9:00 a.m. and departing every half-hour until 2:00 p.m., our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guides will help you become acquainted with our campus. (Length: 1 hour)

College of Natural Resource and Science Tour will be offered at 2:00 p.m. These tours will take a deeper look into the HSU Greenhouse, Fish Hatchery, Ocean Lab, and much more. (Length: 1 hour)

Birds, Beans, Bugs and Barf: Birds in Tropical Coffee Farms

Certain coffee cultivation techniques can provide economic revenue for developing tropical countries and habitat for tropical birds. However, modern advances are jeopardizing traditional, environmentally-friendly techniques. This discussion will cover the ways of growing coffee that are good for birds and how coffee drinkers can promote the retention of such techniques.

 

Explore Botany – An Insider’s View into Plant Structure

Want to learn more about one of the nation’s strongest Botany programs? Discover more about the numerous opportunities for applied research, resources available to students and visit the Herbarium and Greenhouse. Come prepared to get your hands dirty because students will collect plant specimens and examine them using microscopes to learn more about different stains and features of a plant's intimate structure.

Supporting Women in Geography (SWIG) invites you to participate in a navigational challenge! Using geographic tools and techniques you'll be directed to five secret locations around campus where you will draw playing cards. At final destination, the participants with the best poker hands will receive geography-inspired prizes! The competition kicks off in our state-of-the-art Kosmos computer lab facility, where you will learn about our degree program and our students' current projects.
