Birds, Beans, Bugs and Barf: Birds in Tropical Coffee Farms

Science B, Room 133Certain coffee cultivation techniques can provide economic revenue for developing tropical countries and habitat for tropical birds. However, modern advances are jeopardizing traditional, environmentally-friendly techniques. This discussion will cover the ways of growing coffee that are good for birds and how coffee drinkers can promote the retention of such techniques.

Using geographic tools and techniques you'll be directed to five secret locations around campus where you will draw playing cards. At final destination, the participants with the best poker hands will receive geography-inspired prizes! The competition kicks off in our state-of-the-art Kosmos computer lab facility, where you will learn about our degree program and our students' current projects.
