GENERAL INFORMATION
ACADEMIC CREDIT Optional academic credit in music and/or theatre arts is available for $40 per unit. Students attending all available classes each day for the week are eligible to receive up to three units of credit. Contact the Office of Extended Education for details about academic credit.
HOUSING On-campus in the residence halls, meals included, is available for $50 per day, double occupancy and $57 single (limited availability). Contact Housing & Dining Services at (707) 826-3451. See on-campus housing page for more information. For off-campus lodging options, see Lodging.
WITHDRAWAL & REFUND POLICY Withdrawal prior to the first class meeting, there will be a full refund less $25 administrative fee. After program begins there is no refund.
PREPARATIONS Dancers should bring skirts or clothes appropriate for movement. Drummers: conga drum, timbale sticks, misc. percussion instruments (shekere, batá drum, etc.). Bring warm clothes. Note that HSU is a hilly campus. Anticipate stairs and needing to transport your instruments up to three blocks from on-campus housing to the various classrooms.
DRUM RENTAL A limited number of drums will be available to rent for a flat fee. Rented drums must stay in assigned classrooms and are not available for personal use. Check the appropriate spaces on the registration form, and register as early as possible.
VENDING Permitted for a fee, in designated areas only. Contact Extended Education for information.
ROSTER OF PARTICIPANTS including names, phone numbers, and e-mail addresses, will be generated and distributed to participants at the conclusion of the workshops. If you object to being included in this roster, please check the box on the registration form.
SKILL LEVELS Students are encouraged to self-identify their dance and drum skill levels. All students who identify above Level 1 (beginner) will be evaluated by faculty on Sunday, July 20.
