The History of the Land Use
The land now occupied by the Arcata Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wildlife Sanctuary wasn't always what it is now. Many changes have occurred over the years to create the habitat and park we now enjoy. The Humboldt Bay area has an extensive background featuring a variety of groups who have utilized the land for many purposes. This section will be discussing the history of the land that now is the Arcata Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wildlife Sanctuary prior to the implementation of the wastewater treatment plant.
