Economic Fuel

The Humboldt County Student Business Challenge is a business plan competition for local college students and recent graduates. This Spring, four Grand Prize winners will each receive $25,000 to start their businesses here in Humboldt County. Economic Fuel is sponsored by SN Servicing Corporation in collaboration with Humboldt State University, College of the Redwoods and the North Coast Small Business Development Center.

Faculty at HSU play an important role as advisors for students competing in Economic Fuel.  Professor Nancy Vizenor from the School of Business talks about the impact Economic Fuel has had on her life and the lives of her students in the video Economic Fuel - Live, Work and Succeed in Humboldt County

Chung-Watson Lecture Series

Professor for a Day

Professor for a Day provides experiential learning by welcoming successful business community members to campus.  These "professors" guest lecture in specific business courses based on their area of expertise to link business concepts to practical applications.  This event is held during the spring semester; dates of the event will be listed on our event calendar.
