Michael Griffey is currently in his junior year at Humboldt State University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Spanish. His research interests include examining unequal access to resources based on class and income inequality. Upon finishing his education at Humboldt State University, Michael plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Work.
Michelle Showers is a graduate student in the Sociology department whose interests revolve around how race, gender and class affect or influence our positions in society. She is currently examining how maltreatment in the home influences the likelihood of youth entering into the realm of child prostitution. She is a qualitative and quantitative researcher who secretly likes SPSS and statistics. After completing her Masters degree she hopes to work in the private sector as a researcher.
