Join us for a unique and scenic paddle tour in the southern end of the Humboldt Bay. You will paddle 3-5 miles through part of the Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge from King Salmon / Fields Landing to Hookton Slough.

Many of these same knots can be useful for a variety of everyday uses, ranging from camping, climbing, sailing, loading vehicles, and more. This seminar will cover various knots including hitches, bends, loops and other important knots. If you would like to have the mystery taken out of knot tying, this class is for you!
With some of the world’s greatest windsurfing spots right here in Humboldt County, this is an opportunity to learn one of the most versatile forms of sailing. This course is designed for beginners, combining both a classroom pre-trip session as well as an outdoor lesson with an optional second day (level II) for practice. Participants will get familiar with the sport by learning the basic knots, equipment and weather considerations needed to enjoy windsurfing.
As the ancient Hawaiian form of surfing, Stand Up Paddle Surfing has reemerged as a popular and fun fitness form. The introduction course provides the essential information and skills needed to enjoy paddling on flat water. Enjoy the sights of our local waterfront, while getting a fun workout at the same time. Topics covered will include equipment, basic paddling technique and board maneuvering as well as health benefits.
Come paddle along the shores of the amazing Humboldt Bay! These two hour paddles will explore the local flora and fauna present seasonally and year round in and on the waters of the bay. Fun for kids and adults alike.

This course will initially concentrate on learning improved bracing. From there we will progress to combat roll instruction. This will be accomplished with a combination of individual instruction and practice time at the Arcata Community Pool. This course will provide participants with the knowledge and skills required to recognize and eliminate common aquatic hazards, accidents and injuries. Participants must be at least 15 years of age and have excellent swim skills. Includes training and certification in Lifeguarding, First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Class space is limited.
