Our new on site Aquatic Rental Program offers open deck (sit-on-top) kayaks for those with little to no previous paddling experience and traditional touring kayaks for the more experienced paddler. Stand up paddle boards are also offered for those wishing to experience one of the newest forms of paddle sport recreation!
The flat per-person rate allows you to come in and paddle for as long as you would like (see above rental hours). Most people plan on a 2-3 hour rental.
All renters should know how to swim while wearing a PFD. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian signature on their rental waiver.
While participating in our rental program, you may get wet. Thus we require participants to dress for immersion (no cotton or denim) and strongly suggest a change of clothes for after the rental. Bringing a swimsuit to wear under the included wetsuit is a great way to prepare for your time on the Humboldt Bay.
The Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center is happy to work with your community, school or special group to create a custom program to fit your needs. We also offer introduction to paddling courses if you would like to develop your skills further. Please contact us for more information.
