About the Club

The Ballet Folklórico welcomes all HSU students and community members alike. No partner or previous dance experience is necessary! We will teach you dances from different states and regions of Mexico. From Caribbean flavors of the Yucatán peninsula to Norteño polkas, from the flowing skirts of Jalisco to sparking machetes of NayarÍt, you will have the opportunity to learn the varied dance styles, costumes and customs of México!
Every semester we are invited to perform for events on the HSU campus as well as in the greater community.

Membership Qualifications

The desire to learn Mexican folkloric dance is all that is required.

How to Join

Simply show up to one of our Sunday afternoon rehearsals at 1 p.m. in the Kinesiology and Athletics Building! If you take the class, PE 193, you are automatically a member.
