Arcata and Nearby Area

The city of Arcata is located in Humboldt County, on California's Redwood Coast, at the juncture of California Highway 101 and 299 West, the Trinity Scenic Byway. The city is approximately 289 miles north of San Francisco, 150 miles west of Redding, and 6 miles north of Eureka.

Arcata is a popular tourist area. The climate is coastal, which means "be ready for anything." It could be sunny, but is often fog-drenched. Many participants arrive early for the workshop or stay in the area afterwards to enjoy the area. There are many restaurants and things to do... you can ask when you get there.
