Identity Finder Software

Each office and laptop computer in CNRS will need to be evaluated for Personally Identifiable Information. CNRS has purchased the software Identity Finder to help you locate this data.

In addition to running the Identify Finder software we will all need to report what is found on our computer(s). The recording of what is found on your computer is not meant to cause you any problems. The information will be used to help us understand how best to address state and federal law surrounding the security of PII data.

Personally Identifiable Information(PII), as used in information security refers to information that can be used to uniquely identify, contact, or locate a single person or can be used with other sources to uniquely identify a single individual. The software, Identity Finder, found on this web page will help you locate such data on your CNRS office computer and laptop.

Please select Windows or Macintosh below. If you need help with a LINUX workstation contact  CNRS IT by sending an email to cnrsitc [at] humboldt [dot] edu. We will help you with installing and running other software able to find PII data on your LINUX system.

1) Please print the data recording form to be used with Identity Finder to report your findings.
