CNRS Information Technology Consultants
CNRS-File is a computer dedicated to housing critical CNRS department data. There is a folder for each department and within each department folder there are two subfolders. One subfolder (Dept-Share [Faculty]) is accessible by all of your Department faculty and staff. The other subfolder (Dept-Office [Restricted]) is accessible by members of an access control list created by your department. This list generally includes the Department Chair and Secretary. Contact cnrsitc [at] humboldt [dot] edu if memberships need to be changed. We review group membership two times a year so if your department has a new member, please let us know.
PLEASE NOTE: The department network folders are not for all the information you might have on your computer. Since the storage space on CNRS-File is both limited and expensive, please use it only for truly important data.
These network folders reside on a secure computer supported by the UIS system administration group and the server is housed in the Van Matre Data Center. The data on CNRS-File backed up nightly. If your department office is not currently using CNRS-File to store your important documents, you might consider using it.
