ESRI Arc GIS software and online classes

Adobe Acrobat Professional X

To install Adobe Acrobat Professional X on the Windows computer in your office please go to your Start menu and in the run command window type:

 \\cnrs-sw2\Software-install

You should find Acrobat Pro X in the list of available software.

Send an email to cnrsitc [at] humboldt [dot] edu (subject: Adobe%20Acrobat%20X%20License%20Key) for the license code. Once the installation of Adobe Acrobat Professional X is complete, you should reboot your computer.

Microsoft Office 2010 Professional

To install Microsoft Office 2010 Professional on the Windows computer in your office please go to your Start menu and in the run command window type:

 \\cnrs-sw2\Software-install

You should find Office 2010 32-bit Setup (THIS INSTALL OVERWRITES ALL PREVIOUS VERSIONS OF OFFICE!) in the list of available software.

NOTE: The 64-bit version of Office requires Windows Vista or Windows 7 - 64-bit (you can find out what version of Windows you're running by opening the control panel and system properties).

Once the installation of Microsoft Office 2010 Professional is complete, you should reboot your computer.

Turnitin originality monitoring software

HSU now has access to this web based software service.
Send help [at] humboldt [dot] edu an email and they will send you the needed account code.

The account code will allow your class to use the software. Once you have established your account and classes, you can create a series of assignments which your students respond to by submitting their papers.

It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours to receive the originality results and you have the option to allow or not allow your students to see the results.

You can setup your own Turnitin account at this URL: http://turnitin.com/ In the upper right hand corner of the Turnitin website you will see a button titled "Create Account".

A "wizard" will appear and it will ask you a series of questions (student or instructor?, etc). After you select instructor, it will ask for a Turnitin account/class id and password which you will receive in an email. 

Clicker Information

Clickers are $45 new and $33.75 used purchased at the bookstore. Please contact Clarinda Van Horn at x3171 if you have any questions concerning the purchasing of clickers for your classes.

Information regarding the use of clickers can be obtained from Riley Quarles at x3466 over at the Center for Excellence in Learning & Teaching.

These software titles are available at the library for faculty to checkout and install on their home computers.
