Dr. Steven Hackett
For several decades Dr. Hackett's academic work has been focused on the economics of clean energy, the environment, and natural resources. His responsibilities have ranged from faculty member and senior consulting / research economist to chair of several academic departments and service as associate dean.
Dr. Hackett began his career as Assistant Professor at Indiana University in Bloomington in 1989, and currently holds the rank of Professor of Economics at Humboldt State University (HSU). He has served on many graduate dissertation and thesis committees over the years, and most of his teaching is now focused on upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses on environmental and natural resource economics.
Dr. Emiliano Ayala
Dr. Ayala most recently was Professor and Chair of the Department of Educational Leadership and Special Education at Sonoma State University. In addition, he served as Principal Investigator and Project Director for EnACT~PTD, a U.S. Department of Education funded initiative focusing on effective pedagogical practices in higher education. He earned his Ph.D. in Education at San Diego State University/Claremont Graduate University and his M.S. in Counseling at San Diego State University. His research and grant activities focus on supporting students and families with disabilities with areas of emphasis examining cultural diversity, early childhood special education, and Universal Design for Learning.
