Diversity Programs Funding Grant
Other Funding Sources for Multicultural Programming at HSU
The following is a selection of funding sources you may wish to consider applying for to fund your multicultural program on campus. Depending on the nature of your event, some of these grants may be more relevant to you than others.
1) Associated Students Event Funding Grants
The Associated Students funds the following grants, all of which are available for on-campus events and activities that are open to HSU and the surrounding community. http://humboldt.edu/clubs/funding
• Clubs and Activities Small Grants up to $1,000
• Cultural Education Grants up to $500
• Cultural Programming Grants up to $2,500
2) Women’s Resource Center
The Women's Resource Center offers grants in the amounts of $50, $150 and $200. http://www.humboldt.edu/hsuwomen/
3) Individual Academic Departments
Many multicultural programs have relevance to the work of different academic departments on campus, such as the Department of World Languages & Cultures, the Department of Politics, the Department of Theatre, Film & Dance, the Department of Social Work, and many others. If your event has particular relevance for one of these departments, you may wish to consider approaching them for additional funding and/or other support for your event. (Note that most academic departments are generally able to offer only small grants for events, if at all).
4) Humboldt Area Foundation
Though not affiliated with HSU, one funding source to consider is the Humboldt Area Foundation, which works to connect donors that invest in our community with projects in their area of interest to put local capital to work for local priorities and the public good.
