OECD and the HSU Department of Applied Technology have undertaken several projects to help local maunfacturers develop technologies and production techniques to maximize responsible prosperity. These projects have included such businesses as Sun Valley Floral Farm, Cypress Grove Chevre and others.

Supported by the Headwaters Fund of Humboldt County and the US EDA, two HSU graduate students completed research on the feeding patterns of migratory Aleutian Geese in order to determine why many geese prefer North Coast cattle pasture to public lands.

Maggie Gainer, OECD Director, advises and assists this student-led organization with strategic planning, fundraising and she also assisted with the initial charter. The club exists to educate and empower individuals interested in sustainable issues and entrepreneurship.
