Saturday, March 3, Special Events:
Salmon is Everything: 1:00 – 3:00
“Salmon Is Everything” is a play developed from interviews, personal stories and insights of the indigenous people, who have been directly affected by the 2002 Klamath River fish kill, and of the farmers and ranchers, who live in the upper Klamath basin. This collaborative theater piece communicates the intimate, profound, and ecologically critical relationship between people, land, river, and biotic communities. “Salmon Is Everything” draws on theatre’s power to open dialogue, grow compassion and build consensus around the complex issues of the Klamath watershed.
The performance is an interdisciplinary, community-university collaboration and includes Karuk, Hupa, and Yurok actors as well as students, staff, and community members. The performance will be followed by a discussion.
