The Humboldt State University Environmental Resources Engineering department actively seeks advice and consultation from an external advisory committee to maintain its excellence in environmental resources engineering education.

The Advisory Committee assists in promoting academic excellence, fostering professional and peer recognition of faculty and students, and facilitating interactions between students, faculty, university administrators, and ERE program alumni.
Specifically, the objectives of the Advisory Committee are:
The Advisory Committee meets once each year at Humboldt State University. Meetings are organized to provide maximum interaction between Advisory Committee members, faculty, students, and university administrators. In addition, Advisory Committee members complete an annual on-line survey.
Each Advisory Committee member is encouraged to offer constructive suggestions on how the stature of the department can be elevated. Recent Advisory Committee discussions have revolved around ongoing efforts to update teaching methods, expand research, increase the efficiency of department management practices, improve the effectiveness of faculty and student recruitment, and enhance communication between the academic and professional communities.
Travel expenses to ERE Advisory Committee meetings are not reimbursed by the department
ERE Advisory Committee members are appointed for two-year terms. Invitations are extended to prospective members by the ERE Faculty. ERE Advisory Committee members are encouraged to nominate new committee members.
