Internship – Developer of Utility-Scale Solar Generation

sPower, an Independent Power Producer focused on renewable generation, is offering a summer internship opportunity. sPower, created by the merger of Sustainable Power Group and Silverado Power, is a leading renewable electric energy company. We currently own and operate over 100 PV installations in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Utah. We also have a project pipeline of over a gigawatt, many of which are getting ready for construction.

Your job as an intern is to support the development team in seeking new power sales contracts, acquisition of existing PV generators, and research of current policy. We need a student who’s passionate about the solar industry to help keep us moving forward at our blistering pace by converting new development theses into shovel-ready projects and buying our competitors.

What You Will Learn:
• Fundamentals of the electric energy industry
• Energy policy
• Real estate development
• Financial modeling
• Partnership and/or acquisition of renewable companies and assets
• Sales management
• System design and engineering

What We Require:
• Strong interest in renewable technologies
• Basic knowledge of the PV industry, incentives, and drivers
• Major in business, engineering, policy, or other quantitative field preferred
• Top notch grades, motivation, and attitude
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Creativity
• Ability to work hard to see projects through the finish line

We are looking to fill multiple positions from June through August, and are open to longer engagements. Successful interns will be expected to work an average of 40 hours a week and will be paid $12 to $15 per hour. For more details, please contact info [at] spower [dot] com.
