Providing assistance to historically underrepresented students
Students getting financial aid
assistance during Summer Bridge
EOP/SSS students who are eligible may receive an EOP grant each year (up to their fifth year in college). Additionally, EOP/SSS students may receive an SSS grant during their freshman year. To be considered, you must apply for federal financial aid.
EOP Grants: Eligibility for an EOP grant at Humboldt is based on the students' expected family contribution (EFC) and their class level. EOP grants are awarded only as long as funds are available. EOP students with Freshmen and Sophomore class standing are considered for grants of up to $1,000; Juniors and Seniors are considered for grants of up to $500.
You will have a much better chance of receiving an EOP grant and other financial aid for which you are eligible if you apply early in January. EOP grants are awarded based on information provided on the FAFSA. No additional application is required for EOP grant consideration.
SSS Grants: Eligibility for an SSS grant at Humboldt State University is based on SSS program eligibility, Pell Grant eligibility, financial need, and class standing. SSS eligible students with freshmen class standing are considered for SSS grants of up to $3,000, which is typically awarded only during their first year at Humboldt. SSS grants are awarded based on FAFSA and Humboldt State University Financial Aid Office information. No additional application is required for SSS grant consideration.
Federal Financial Aid: Applying for financial aid is separate from the CSU and EOP admissions process. Financial aid information and application forms may be accessed through the Department of Education website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Apply as soon as possible after January 1st for each upcoming academic school year.
Cal Grant: Information about Cal Grant GPA Verification forms for new Cal Grant applicants can be found at http://www.csac.ca.gov/doc.asp?id=1177. Apply as soon as possible after January 1st for each upcoming academic school year.
Additional Financial Resources: For additional information about financial aid, refer to the CSU undergraduate application booklet or refer to "The Student Guide to Financial Aid from the U.S. Department of Education, Funding your Education," made available by the Department of Education.
