Providing assistance to historically underrepresented students

Welcome to the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) at Humboldt State University. Our staff is available to help you reach your academic, personal, and career goals, and we take great pride in our ability to deliver our services to you on a personal and individualized basis. Our services are described throughout our website, and we have included a number of pictures and profiles of our students who are part of our EOP community.
In 1969, the State Legislature approved funding for the Educational Opportunity Program in California. The following year, EOP was established at Humboldt State University for the purpose of increasing access and improving retention of low-income and historically underrepresented students in higher education. EOP provides admissions, academic and financial assistance to eligible low-income California residents. Priority for admission into EOP is given to students who are unable to meet regular university admission requirements and to those who will need academic support to successfully complete their college studies. Both freshmen and transfer students who wish to be considered for EOP must apply prior to enrolling at a California State University.
