Humboldt Music Academy
Music classes for ages 2 through 18 include Suzuki method classes, classes in singing, musical theater, fiddle playing, world folk music, bucket drumming and more. Several ensembles and private lessions are also available. Presented by the Office of Extended Education and the HSU Department of Music in fall, spring and summer. See more
The Studio School
A distinctive visual arts program for youth ages 5-13. Students create art with genuine artist's materials in an authentic studio environment, getting access to collections and exhibitions at HSU Reese Bullen Gallery and the Morris Graves Museum of Art. Presented by the HSU Art Dept. and the Office of Extended Education in fall and spring. See more
Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop
The Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop is a unique opportunity each summer for young musicians to study and perform at least four different works with four different chamber groups over the course of each six-day session. See more
Young Writers' Academy
Students of any writing ability who will be in grades four through nine in fall are welcome to experiment with and hone their writing skills in a supportive environment. Kids will explore a variety of styles, become more confident as writers, and improve their own writing by examining the work of other writers. This is a Redwood Writing Project program offered in the summer. See more
Calif. State Summer School for the Arts (CSSSA)
A California State summer arts school for young people in grades 8 through 12. It is a rigorous, preprofessional, month-long summer training program in the visual and performing arts, creative writing, animation and film for talented artists of high school age. InnerSpark provides a supportive environment in which students hone acquired skills and explore new techniques and ideas for an intense and exciting learning experience. Courses are offered in animation, creative writing, dance, film/video, music, theater and visual arts. College credit is available. See more
