Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Training
Offered once each semester, including summer. This course has been designed for mandated reporters: health practitioners, including but not limited to physicians and surgeons, psychiatrists, psychologists, MFTs and interns, dentists and hygienists, residents, interns, podiatrists, chiropractors, nurses, optometrists, EMTs, paramedics; childcare custodians, including but not limited to teachers, instructional aides, child daycare workers, foster parents, youth camp employees, social workers, probation and parole officers; employees of a child protective agency; commercial film and photographic print processors; clergy; firefighters, animal control officers and humane society officers, and child visitation monitors. The P.O.S.T. Management Course for Law Enforcement
This course comprises 104 hours: Thirteen days of instruction are spread over three weeks, with a minimum two-week intersession between each week of instruction. The modules are taught by a variety of instructors who offer a diversity of insight into the complex field of law enforcement management. Participants will be expected to complete assignments during the intersessions, and also complete and present a group project at the end of the course. This course reflects the dynamic environment in which law enforcement managers work. Humboldt State University is dedicated to providing a valuable learning experience, covering contemporary topics. Certificate of Study in Wildland Fire Management
This curriculum is designed for those wishing to enhance or upgrade knowledge and skills in fire ecology, management of wildland fuels, prescribed fire and fire behavior. Students may supplement previously taken college courses to help qualify for employment with various agencies and companies that manage wildlands. The program is available for federal employees who work in fire management agencies. See more
