Creative Flamenco Sevillanas

Sevillanas is the Flamenco folk dance from southern Spain. It is an authentic Gypsy dance and is featured in the Feria de Abril, a week-long festival held in Seville. With these workshops for beginners, we will strive to create our own sevillanas, exciting dances that you can dance alone, but can also dance with a partner in a festival. Couples don’t need to have body contact, but they can still look very romantic. Boys and girls dancing sevillanas in the festival is charming and popular, too! Explore the power of flamenco with your whole family! It’s best to attend both workshops, as new material is covered each day. On the last day, we will create our own sevillanas festival! You’re encouraged to dance in the party. Space is limited in the dance studio, so register early. Separate workshops for adults and children.

Creative Flamenco Rumbas

Three dance poses of instructor Ku-Hsiang Lin on stage

Flamenco rumbas are the most popular and easy forms of flamenco dance. Beginners and advanced dancers of all ages will have fun dancing to the exciting rhythms of Latin music! While women and girls swing their skirts and move their hips, the men and boys display impressive footwork and cool poses! More experienced dancers may be challenged to make up their own flamenco rumbas. By mixing the dance sequences to match the music, you may create your own original piece. Personal expression is welcome. New material is covered each day. On the last day of instruction, we will create our own festival with a dance party! You can watch the instructor dance some pieces and then show off your own moves! Space is limited in the dance studio, so register early. Separate workshops for adults and children.
