A Celtic fiddle class and performing ensemble for violin students playing at the Suzuki Book 5 or above level. Other instruments welcome (piano, guitar, whistle, flute, etc.).

Intermediate and advanced level ensembles are available in various combinations of strings, woodwinds, brass and piano, depending upon the pool of students ready for small ensemble work.

An opportunity for flute players to participate in an interactive group and expand on concepts of unison, rhythm, harmony and independent playing. Music reading skills and concurrent private instruction required.

By audition and instructor approval, an opportunity for intermediate harp students interested in ensemble playing. Must also be taking private harp lessons.

Study and performance of jazz idiom instrumental music for jazz instrumentalists on sax, trumpet, trombone, bass, keyboard, flute and percussion. Stress on stylistic interpretations, jazz techniques, improvisation, and ensemble playing. Two years playing experience required.

Instructor: Mary DeAndreis
A first ensemble experience for student instrumentalists. Reading ability and rhythmic independence are developed through rehearsals. Students should be studying privately.
