How to Build & Grow Your Online Business

These two workshops provide the tools to create a new online business and promote any business online. Each session stands alone, but even ongoing businesses will benefit from both. Both workshops include follow-up instructor feedback, online resources and an electronic textbook (Internet Marketing Handbook 2011 by Robert Gluckson, M.A.).

Session one, in the morning, provides the tools and strategies to visualize your ideal Internet business.

In the second workshop you’ll develop your business plan with step-by-step instructions to make it work.

Five Ways to Make Money Online:

  1. Sell a product.
  2. Sell your service.
  3. Sell your book, art, or CD.
  4. Get paid for referrals to other websites.
  5. Sell eyeball space to advertisers and sponsors.

Session 1: Start Your Online Business

Develop an online business plan to take your current business online or start a business that builds on your strengths and interests. This session provides the basics of how to make money online and instructor feedback on how to make it work for you.

Learn online marketing strategies and the tools to make them work. Discover the basic ways to monetize a website and choose a business that’s right for you.

The Internet can help ANY business – even local product or service providers with storefronts – to sell products, bring in new clients, and promote books, music, or artwork. Learn when to use the various Internet tools to attract customers: Website, e-letter, and social media like Twitter, Facebook, blogs, and YouTube.

Develop an integrated marketing strategy that will focus your efforts on what will work quickly, effectively, at the least expense. Avoid expensive affiliate programs and time-wasting get-rich-quick schemes.

Session 2:  Promote Your Online Business: Do-It-Yourself Tools & Strategies

Local businesses can use the Internet to build a service business, sell products locally, or sell services and products online to people far away. This session provides custom strategies and step-by-step instructions for each person attending. Build an Internet marketing strategy for your business.

Learn to use your website to:

  • Build on your best resource: your existing customers
  • Support referrals
  • Attract new people using search engine optimization
  • Get found locally using unique keywords and Google Maps

Discover:

  • How, when, and why to use e-letters, Facebook, and your blog
  • What to write that will attract people to your site again and again

Learn step-by-step techniques to market your current business online. Attract the right audiences with search engine marketing, e-mail capture, e-letters, social media, and other online promotions. Learn where to get free and low-cost content (both words and pictures).

Robert Gluckson, M.A., is the owner of Good Cause Marketing, a full-service copywriting, graphic design, and online marketing agency. He is the author of articles, books, and websites.
